About This Project
The Office initiated Osun's first Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory and sub-national accounting framework, appointing and training climate desk officers across MDAs on emissions tracking methodology. Osun's data is now linked to the national GHG accounts, making the state one of the pioneering Nigerian states in sub-national GHG tracking. This positions Osun directly for climate finance opportunities and carbon market participation. This initiative works in direct coordination with the Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment to create a comprehensive climate risk and emissions baseline for the state.
